Becoming a Member
If you're looking for a great place to raise your family and enjoy memorable summers, consider membership at Roton Point! Membership is limited to 400 unit owners and their families. Because units are condominium interests owned by members, new members either purchase or license a unit directly from one of the current owners to enjoy the benefits of the club.
Buying a Unit
If you're interested in purchasing a unit, Roton Point maintains a buyer's list, which is sent to owners who wish to sell their unit. The seller will then contact you directly.
After you reach an agreement to buy a unit from a current owner, you'll need to apply for membership, and the seller will supply you with a membership application. You'll also be asked to provide two letters of recommendation from current unit owners (other than the seller).
Since you're purchasing a piece of real property (a 1/400th share), you'll need to use a lawyer to represent you for the transaction. The sellers will also have their own lawyer to complete the real estate sale.
Yes! Please add me to the potential buyer's list.
Licensing a Unit
Roton Point owners who are interested in licensing out their Roton Point unit usually advertise via:
- Local newspapers
- Craig's List
- Other local websites listing real estate rentals
- Bulletin boards at the local post office, Rowayton stores, etc.
Once an owner has come to terms with a potential licensee, the owner is responsible for submitting a completed Licensing Package that includes a License Agreement, a Licensee Profile sheet, two letters of recommendation from current Roton Point unit owners and payment of any dues, fees, assessments (if applicable) and mortgage payment (if applicable). The package is then forwarded to the Membership Committee for review. Once approved, the licensee has access to Roton Point from May 1st through November 30th.
